Nonlinear Robust Performance Analysis of an Aeroelastic System

چکیده
The problem of analysing the worst-case performance of a nonlinear aeroelastic system is formulated as an optimisation problem and solved using gradient-based local optimisation methods. Two different approaches are considered. The first formulates the optimisation problem in the classical Euler-Lagrange setting and computes the gradient by backward integration of the resulting adjoint system. The second uses a Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) method which solves a Quadratic Programming (QP) subproblem at each iteration. The performance of both approaches is evaluated in terms of computational complexity and numerical accuracy, and compared with a standard industrial approach based on gridding the uncertain parameter space. A robust engineering approach for wind turbine blade profile aeroelastic computation
Wind turbines are important devices that extract clean energy from wind flow. The efficiency of wind turbines should be examined under various working conditions in order to estimate off-design performance. Numerous aerodynamic and structural research works have been carried out to compute aeroelastic effects on wind turbines. Most of them suffer from either the simplicity of the modelling ...

In the present paper, the aeroelastic stability of helicopter rotor blade is determined using Aeroelastic Frequency Response Function. The conventional methods of aeroelastic stability usually use an iterative procedure while the present method does not require such approach. Aeroelastic Frequency Response Functions are obtained by inverting dynamic stiffness matrix of the aeroelastic system. S...

The idea of using quasi-linear piecewise models has been established on the decomposition of complicated nonlinear systems, simultaneously designing with local controllers. Since the proper performance and the final system close loop stability are vital in multi-model controllers designing, the main problem in multi-model controllers is the number of the local models and their position not payi...
